Epik High
(Wikipedia) Korean hip hop band. Potentially the band whose number of songs I like the most. There's a good chance you can play any of their many songs from the 11+ albums they've released since 2002 and I will like it, if not love it. I started listening to them in university, 2008 to 2012, thanks to my best friend who introduced me to them – so my feelings for them may be extra strong given my bond to their music during some of my formative years. (2026/06/27) So excited to see them live in October 2026! Some favorite songs:
- Lovedrunk
- Umbrella (우산; featuring Younha)
- Happen Ending (헤픈엔딩; featuring Cho Won-sun of Roller Coaster)
- Gray So Gray (featuring Younha)
Lindsey Stirling
(Wikipedia) American - electronic, classical, dubstep - violinist, singer, songwriter. Famous for dancing while playing violin. She started on YouTube doing video game covers and her own original dubstep music, then got really big. I've seen her a few times live. Super impressive seeing her dance and play at the same time.
Utada Hikaru・宇多田ヒカル
(Wikipedia) Japanese - J-pop, R&B - singer, songwriter. Oh wow I've loved Utada since middle school. Like many Americans I was first introduced to them via their song "Simple and Clean" featured in the video game Kingdom Hearts (2002). I was hooked ever since. She reminds me of Mariah Carey but of course has her own unique flavor. Some favorite songs:
- Can You Keep a Secret?
- COLORS
- Garden of Everything, The - with Steve Conte
- This was my husband and my wedding song ❤️
- One Last Kiss
Vaundy
(Wikipedia) Japanese - J-pop musician. I catch a lot of his songs in J-dramas or just from my YT Music recommendation reel. Some favorite songs:
- Fujin (風神)
- Carnival (カーニバル)
