- All You Need is Kill (American adaptation)
- Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven by Brandon Easton and Denis Medri
- I enjoyed reading this more than Life and Legend. The art is nicer (and colored!) as well. The perspective is all first-person Andre, whereas *Life and Legend *is third-person omniscient (?), so the latter naturally feels less personal. At the same time, I learned a lot more factual stuff regarding wrestling and Andre's mannerisms (e.g., the footnote on Andre calling a lot of people "boss", not just his own literal bosses). Some of these mannerisms were organically placed in Closer to Heaven, but I likely wouldn't have consciously noted them.
- One of the personal notes I learned from this one that wasn't in *Life and Legend *was that Andre may have been especially fond of Robin Wright's (the main actress of The Princess Bride) name because she shares her first name with his estranged daughter.

- ~~*Garden *~~
by Yuichi Yokoyama
- I can recognize that it is incredibly different and technically masterful in its architectural landscapes and the way these alien people start to make sense of and interact with them. However, it's just not my cup of tea. I want a story with plot and defined characters, and *Garden *does not supply these for me.
- *Genius *by Steven T. Seagle
- being smart but not smart enough, pressures of a researcher to continuously innovate
- Gifted, The,books 1-2 by Damian A. Wassell and Nathan C. Gooden
- Very few words, from perspective of wolf who gains the "gift of intelligence" (more like self-awareness? hightened intelligence? intelligence more like what we as humans are familiar with?) in a post-apocalyptic, bleak, black-and-white world. The intelligence the wolf receives gives him color in this world, and other animals that possess intelligence also are shown to have color. Really neat and different, though I was definitely not clued into the intelligence gift until I read the end notes and reread the story.
